Sean Mullen is a commercial litigator with broad experience in state and federal courts, as well as in domestic and international arbitrations. He also represents clients in internal and regulatory investigations.
 
Sean’s practice includes litigation and arbitration involving securities, complex international investments, LLC and partnership agreements, employment agreements, and other contract disputes. He has significant experience involving regulatory investigations and matters related to LIBOR and FX rates. Sean has a track record of successfully resolving litigation involving breaches of contract, fiduciary duty issues and partnership disputes. His clients include large banks, boards of directors, law firms and partners, private and public companies, and executives.
 
Sean began his legal career as an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP.

Representative Matters:

  • Represented a multinational bank in a series of arbitrations around the country brought by former employees arising out of the bank’s exit from a line of domestic business.

  • Represented a large bank in the Commercial Division of New York state Supreme Court for breach of a Distribution Agreement.

  • Represented a former prominent law firm partner in a multinational civil lawsuit involving tax collection.

  • Successfully settled a breach of contract dispute between two music royalty companies, avoiding the necessity of a trial on damages.

  • Represented a fund partnership that issued a capital call to its limited partners to clawback carried interest distributions to fund an obligation of the partnership.

  • Represented the demand committee of a publicly traded company’s Board of Directors in connection with a shareholder demand involving an alleged malpractice in a patent litigation.
